Our online designer tool puts the specifications in your hands. Build out your structure by adjusting and selecting several features, including:

- Color selection — coordinate roof, walls, and trim
- Walk doors and roll-up doors — placement and sizing for equipment access, vehicles, or foot traffic

From Design to Delivery: Six Steps
1. Create Your Building
Use the online designer to lay out your size, configuration, and features. No account managers, no back-and-forth to get started. Just build what you have in mind.
2. Design Consultation
After you submit, schedule a phone or in-person consultation with a member of our team. Together, we’ll cover:
- How you plan to use the building
- Door, window, and access requirements
- Mezzanines, overhangs, gutters, and finish options
- Color selections and available upgrades
- Any site or specification considerations
3. Final Design & Quote
With the configuration locked in, you’ll receive a firm quote covering:
- The complete building package
- Engineering plans
- Delivery to your job site
4. Order Confirmation & Engineering
Approve the quote, submit your deposit, and engineering begins. Structural drawings and calculations are prepared and submitted to a licensed engineering firm for review and approval. The firm then stamps the approved plans.
Typical turnaround: 7–10 business days for initial drawings and calculations. Complex projects and jurisdiction-specific requirements may extend this timeline.
5. Fabrication
Once engineering requirements are satisfied and the required payment is received, your package moves into fabrication.
6. Delivery
When fabrication is complete and the balance is paid, we coordinate delivery straight to your job site. Before the truck arrives, you’ll need:
- An appropriate forklift on site
- A qualified operator to run it
- Clear, accessible approach for the delivery vehicle

Most likely, but requirements differ. Permits, building codes, zoning rules, and site restrictions vary by state, county, municipality, and property. Contact your local permitting or building authority before ordering so you know exactly what applies to your project.
No. We do not obtain or process permits on a customer’s behalf. Stamped engineering plans are provided as part of the engineering process, and you are responsible for submitting documentation and securing all required permits and approvals from your local authorities.
Yes. Structural calculations and plans are submitted to a licensed engineering firm for review. When approved, that firm stamps the applicable plans and assumes professional responsibility for the engineering its stamp represents.
Chaparral Steel Supply coordinates the building package and the engineering process. We do not act as the engineer of record and do not assume professional engineering responsibility for plans stamped by an independent licensed firm.

As a general guideline, custom metal building packages run roughly 7–12 weeks from order confirmation to completion. Your project representative can give you a more specific estimate once your design is finalized.
No. We supply the building package and coordinate delivery. Assembly and erection are arranged by the customer — either through a qualified contractor or your own labor crew.
DuraCoat® Paint Warranty: Eligible painted components are backed by the applicable manufacturer’s DuraCoat® paint warranty, which may provide coverage for up to 40 years, depending on the specific coating, product, application, and warranty terms.
